Shoes generated from personal data in a ubietous system.
Troy Nachtigall is a designer and researcher exploring what design is through the lens of fashion and technology. His work examines how fashion and technology shape, expand, and redefine design itself, moving beyond traditional paradigms into computational craftsmanship. Through Research through Design, Troy investigates the interaction between data, digital fabrication, and materiality in the creation of garments, shoes, and accessories. His research asks: What happens when design moves from craft to computation? How does technology shift the role of the designer? Can data and digital fabrication transform fashion into an iterative, evolving practice? By engaging with adaptive product-service ecosystems, personalization, and co-creation, Troy envisions a future where fashion as form of Design is no longer static but an ongoing and evolving relationship between wearer, material, and system.
